Schedule: Part-time (20–30 hrs/week), Contract position (3-month contract-to-hire)

About fare•well

fare•well is a web design and Webflow development agency based in Bend, Oregon. We partner with purpose-driven organizations to create digital experiences that are as thoughtful as they are functional. Our values— calm confidence, shared success, work-life balance, fail forward, and innovation investment —shape every project and client relationship.

Position Overview

We're hiring a part-time Web Designer to support our growing team, with the potential to move into a full-time role after an initial 3-month contract. This role is perfect for a designer who brings both craft and care to their work, and who thrives in collaborative, mission-aligned environments.

You’ll work across various stages of our website process—from strategy and concept to design and basic implementation. We’re looking for someone who blends visual creativity with systems thinking and who’s excited to improve their craft alongside a nimble, thoughtful team.

This position will be contracted for 20-30 hours a week with an evaluation to hire full-time at the 3-month mark.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design responsive, user-friendly, and brand-aligned websites in Figma
  • Create polished, cohesive design systems—from color palettes and typography to layout and interaction
  • Translate client goals into wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
  • Collaborate with developers, content strategists, project managers and clients to bring concepts to life
  • Help improve internal systems, templates, and design processes
  • Stay on top of modern design trends, tools, and accessibility best practices

Your Skills

  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, and design systems
  • Experience creating sitemaps and wireframes
  • Strong grasp of color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy
  • Comfortable using visual website builders (Webflow a plus)
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge
  • Experience managing multiple projects and timelines

Your Qualities

  • Detail-oriented and design-driven
  • Organized, proactive, and eager to improve processes
  • Strong communicator and collaborative team player
  • Able to troubleshoot and find elegant solutions
  • Curious learner and creative thinker
  • Self-directed but not siloed—you're at your best in a team that respects your voice
  • Excited about continual education!

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with Webflow, Timothy Rick’s Lumos system, or Relume Library
  • Accessibility expertise (WCAG basics, semantic structure)
  • Experience in agency settings or with client-facing communication
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals
  • Oregon-based or aligned with the Pacific Northwest mindset

*Even if you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. Research shows that you may still be considered for a role if you meet just half of the requirements.

Please email [email protected] with your resume and portfolio to apply.
