- Option to pick up one extra weekend and one weekday shift instead of call
Job Description: Meritus Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Labor and Delivery RN to join their LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit on night shift. This role requires a highly skilled RN with experience in obstetric surgical recovery and the ability to manage the full spectrum of perinatal care, including mother/baby assignments.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in all phases of obstetric care: labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
- Support OB surgical recovery, especially post-cesarean section patients
- Manage and monitor fetal well-being and maternal status during labor and delivery
- Educate and support new mothers and families regarding newborn care and postpartum recovery
- Document care using Epic EMR
- Participate in on-call rotations or additional shift coverage based on department needs
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, pediatrics, and support staff
Qualifications: - License: Active RN license in the state of Maryland or compact RN license
- Certifications: BLS, NRP (preferred/required per facility guidelines)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP or Labor & Delivery experience
- Experience with Mother-Baby care required
- OB surgical recovery (C-section) experience highly preferred
- EMR: Proficiency in Epic required
