ABC Printing & Signs, a premier and growing sign company in the Fort Smith area, is seeking a motivated and experienced Sign Installer to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for the expert installation and maintenance of a wide variety of impactful signage, from illuminated channel letters and cabinet signs to monument structures and detailed vinyl graphics. Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a bucket truck and other aerial lift equipment to execute sign installations and service calls at various heights.
- Conduct thorough site surveys to assess installation requirements, identify potential challenges, and ensure precise measurements and material take-offs.
- Expertly install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical components for various types of illuminated signage, ensuring all work meets safety standards and electrical codes.
- Install a diverse portfolio of sign types, including but not limited to: channel letters, cabinet signs, pylon signs, monument signs, dimensional letters, and vinyl graphics.
- Proactively diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, or structural issues encountered on-site during installation or service.
- Meticulously inspect signs for any damage or missing components, accurately reporting findings for prompt resolution.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times, both on job sites and within company vehicles/facilities.
- Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team, while also demonstrating the ability to manage tasks independently and problem-solve autonomously.
- Communicate professionally with clients and project managers on-site as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of direct experience in sign installation, including electrical sign work and the operation of a bucket truck.
- Demonstrable knowledge of various sign types, substrates, and industry-standard mounting and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools relevant to the sign trade.
- Solid understanding of basic electrical principles, wiring practices, and troubleshooting for illuminated signs.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, site plans, and installation diagrams.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to work comfortably and safely at heights, on ladders, and lift/move heavy materials up to 75 lbs.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality workmanship with a positive, professional attitude.
Preferred Qualifications (A plus, but not required):
- Experience with bucket trucks and aerial equipment
- Welding or fabrication skills.
- Electrical skills (lighting circuits, low voltage)
- Experience with digital message centers or advanced LED lighting systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18 per hour Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
