Senior Electrical Engineer / Industrial Projects / Oakland, CA
A fast-moving engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects. This full-time role is based in Oakland, CA and involves cross-disciplinary collaboration from concept through commissioning.
Responsibilities:
- Design low and medium voltage power systems, including lighting and controls
- Perform load calculations, draft system drawings, and develop design documentation
- Specify electrical equipment and support procurement efforts
- Participate in design reviews and safety assessments (HAZOP)
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to deliver project goals
- Support field installations and commissioning (limited travel within CA)
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in industrial system design
- Proficient in NEC, NFPA, IEC codes
- Experience with AutoCAD and ETAP
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
Qualifications:
- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering
