The primary responsibility of this position is to provide guests with a secure and positive impression of Target Center. This impression is created by providing guests with accurate event information and assisting them with security questions regarding the event. This position is expected to work cohesively with all employees of Target Center in maintaining a superior level of guest service. Duties include providing a secure and positive first impression by offering superior, individualized service; monitoring entry and exit points including screening guests' bags; providing accurate event and arena information; enforcing facility policies such as no smoking and no re-entry; responding to emergencies; aiding in orderly evacuation during emergencies; and dealing with patron problems and complaints up to the level requiring intervention by a Security Supervisor. Required qualifications include strong customer service skills, excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures, knowledge of Security Chain of Command, and eligibility to be employed as a protective services employee according to Minnesota State Law. Preferred qualifications include law enforcement, law enforcement student, or military background. Physical requirements include ability to work in various environments including heights, elevators, darkened arena, crowds, loud noise, and flashing lights, with continuous standing and walking including stairs. This is a part-time position based on the Target Center events calendar with hours that can include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
