A Registered Nurse specializing in oncology who provides expert nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while acting as a patient advocate and mentor within the oncology unit. Utilizes specialized oncology knowledge and certifications to improve patient outcomes in a hospital setting.

Additional Information/Department information: The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of acute patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in the chemotherapy/infusion setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in all areas of oncologic nursing with expertise in delivery of chemotherapeutic and biologic agents.
