This role includes providing after-hours and emergency support. The technician will collaborate closely with a small team of technical professionals to ensure reliable access to a broad and rapidly evolving range of network and internet-connected services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot campus wired, wireless and telecommunications networks.Troubleshoot and solve connectivity issues with devices on wired and wireless network.Install and maintain network-connected systems such as vending, access control and video surveillance equipment.Deploy, configure, and maintain servers and systems that support network services.Maintain accurate inventory of network assets and infrastructure components.Respond promptly to emergency outages and perform repairs as needed.Participate in both short- and long-term infrastructure and technology planning.May be required to work with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, network accounts, file storage, remote access, etc. to provide support for other team members. Additional Information SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESStudent employees EDUCATIONDegree or vocational certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Repair, or similar experience.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe Network Support Technician will primarily work in a climate-controlled office environment, performing tasks that require sitting, speaking, hearing, and using hands for repetitive motions and fine motor tasks. The role also involves frequent work in various indoor and outdoor campus locations, requiring physical activity such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Physical exertion may include lifting or handling equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, pulling cable, and accessing confined spaces to install or repair network infrastructure.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATIONThe starting salary for this position is $46,000 but will be based on experience and education level.
