Music Director, Peace Dale Congregational Church (part-time) Reports to: the Senior Pastor Salary: $43,000-$50,000, commensurate with skills and experience Peace Dale Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, South Kingstown, Rhode Island, seeks an experienced music director and organist for worship services and leadership of the church’s music program. The Music Director is responsible for leading and growing the church’s music program in an active, growing, diverse community, starting by late August 2025. The job description is available at . Key duties include: Directing volunteer Traditional and Contemporary/Praise Team choirs; Conducting weekly evening rehearsals for each choir; Developing and leading a youth music program and outreach initiatives such as a musical instrument and vocal academy; Providing guidance to the leader of the Bell Choir as needed. Additional responsibilities: Monitoring the budget; Collaborating with the Senior Pastor to ensure music complements the theme of each service and enhances the spiritual life of the community; Reporting to the Music Board and attending monthly meetings; Managing tuning, repair, and maintenance of the organ, baby grand piano, and other musical instruments. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience leading church music groups and accompanying on organ and piano in worship services or similar settings. Proficiency in organ and piano, vocal skills, and a strong understanding of both traditional and contemporary church music are essential. The candidate should have expertise in hymnody and praise music, and the ability to direct and teach choir members of various skill levels effectively.
