Job Title: Technician - Microbiology Development/Lab
Location: Saint Joseph, MO
Duration: 24+ Months
Shift: Mon - Fri, 08:00AM - 04:30PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled QC Technician III to perform essential microbiological testing in support of pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role includes environmental monitoring, microbial identification, endotoxin testing, and sterility assessments. The technician will ensure regulatory compliance, maintain documentation according to GMP standards, and contribute to a safe and quality-focused work environment. Effective communication with supervisors regarding test results, compliance issues, and scheduling is key to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing such as:
- Microbial identification
- Environmental monitoring of classified environments
- Bacterial endotoxin testing
- Microbial limits testing
- Sterility testing
- Ensure all testing is completed in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Communicate testing status, compliance issues, and scheduling conflicts promptly to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with site safety KPIs and company safety protocols.
- Follow company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) rigorously.
- Demonstrate and model company core values and the LEAD principles in daily work activities.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree from an accredited institution in a relevant scientific discipline
- OR
- AA degree plus four (4) years of relevant Client experience
- OR
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience in a regulated laboratory setting
- Proficiency in microbiological techniques and laboratory best practices
- Strong understanding of GMP regulations and aseptic technique
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech Quality Control laboratory
- Familiarity with FDA, USP, and other regulatory guidance applicable to microbiological testing
