Job Description
Job Title: Athletic Custodian/Grounds
Reports to: Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor
Dept./School: Assigned Campus
Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt
Terms of Employment : 245 days, 5 days per week, 8-hour workday per year. Hours may be modified based on changes in mission requirements.
Special Knowledge/Skills :
- Physically able to lift 20 - 150 pounds
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with district employees
- Able to operate small engine equipment such as a weed eater, blower, mower
Major Responsibilities and Duties: - performs all duties as described in the custodian's job description.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
Make minor building repairs as needed
Move furniture or equipment within the building
Set up for athletic and special events
Assist with opening and closing the building each day
Grounds duties
Able to maintain athletic grounds by weed eating, blowing, edging, and mowing
Assist in set up of athletic events such as line fields
- Demonstrates punctuality and dependability.
- Works and cooperates with fellow workers.
- Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the FISD safety program.
- Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies.
- Demonstrates the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.
- Performs any/all other duties as assigned
- Provides optimal customer service to all students, employees, parents, community members, and any other stakeholders of the district.
- May be required to work irregular hours
Mental Demands: Reading; ability to understand verbal instructions
EQUIPMENT USED :
Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, hand tools, shampooer/ mower, weed eater, edger, paint striper, blower
Able to work swing shifts according to athletic events.
Willingness to learn and be trained in other aspects of the job such as irrigation maintenance and pest control Floresville Independent School District
