WHO WE ARE: Dina Bandman Interiors is a boutique full-service residential interior design firm located in North Beach. Although a small firm, we have a heavy project load with each typically consisting of a remodel component in addition to furnishings. The firm is fast paced which provides the opportunity to jump into projects and have a high level of responsibility from the get go. Individuals who apply should have a positive, go getter attitude, be passionate about design, be detail oriented, flexible and able to keep up with change, natural problem solver/solution seeker, and love dogs - as Winnie Shih Tzu is at the office often.

Junior Designers at DBI should have natural design skills however this is a heavy project management position and successful Junior Designers need to have excellent communication and leadership skills. AutoCAD knowledge is mandatory. You will be given the responsibility of managing 2-3 of our smaller projects with the expectation of drafting floor plans, elevations, tracking budgets, preparing proposals, placing orders and communicating with vendors and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Track project in Asana
  • Take notes at meetings and turn notes into actionable items
  • Prepare Meeting Agendas and turn them into Meeting Minutes
  • Site Visits
  • Design Center Runs
  • Vendor Communication: Request lead times, quotes, and specifications
  • Create Space plans and Elevations
  • Create RFQ (request for quotes) for vendors, turn them into WO ( Work Orders)
  • Place Orders once approved by clients and follow up on orders
  • Ability to read architectural plans

Qualifications/ Who you are

  • 2+ years of experience working in a design firm.
  • CAD proficient (able to space plan and draft elevations)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills- must be prompt in correspondence with vendors, clients and team
  • Knowledge of Google Suite (Google sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc), Asana, Slack preferred
  • Knowledge of IVY is helpful
  • Resourceful
  • Exceptional organizational skills - we work on multiple projects at a time and so will you!
  • Can do Positive Attitude
  • Passionate about design!
  • Self starter and takes pride in being proactive in finishing tasks
  • Experience selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials and finishes
  • Ability to multi-task - we are a fast paced environment with lots of projects!
  • You must be able to manage and meet deadlines and be eager to learn and grow with firm

Additional Notes: The preferred candidate should be able to work from the office full-time. Flexibility is valued at DBI, and depending on the needs of the office schedules/meetings, some remote work is allowed. A car is highly recommended!
