Were looking for a Principal Data Engineer to lead and scale client's data capabilities from the ground up.

This is a unique opportunity to become the technical leader of a new team shaping architecture, choosing technology, and mentoring future engineers as they move from a side project into a scalable, enterprise-grade platform.

Data is a key piece to client future, and they are investing in it now by hiring a Principal Data Engineer to kickstart this function.

What Youll Do:

• Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable AWS-native data pipelines and platforms.
• Select the right tools and technologies to handle growing data volumes and complexity.
• Develop robust, reliable, and observable batch and real-time pipelines.
• Advocate for best practices in data, from data quality and governance to security and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Analytics, and Engineers to enable insightful, trustworthy data products.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to a Senior Engineer and future team members.
• Shape the future roadmap for our data stack and team.

Must-Haves:

• 7+ years of experience designing and scaling data systems
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (or similar)
• Experience choosing and integrating scalable tools to handle growing data workloads
• Experience modernizing a legacy or side project into a production-grade pipeline
• Familiar with data governance, compliance, and securing multi-tenant data
