ABT Heating and Cooling is a family owned and operated HVAC company servicing all of Utah. Brent got his start in the HVAC industry back in the mid 1980s when he and his family moved from Blackfoot, ID, to Orem, UT. He went to work for a local HVAC company and stayed there for a few years working his way to manager. Brent then left that shop and began working at Geneva Steel in the HVAC/Maintenance department. Brent continued at Geneva for years; when he decided to open his own HVAC company in the early 1990s, Excellence in Air Conditioning and Heating was born and Brent continued to work at Geneva Steel during the day and Excellence in Air in the afternoons and nights. Business began to take off and soon after Brent left Geneva Steel to pursue Excellence in Air full time. Brent continued to build and grow his business and opened a commercial division in the late 1990s and went from a one or two man show to a multi-million dollar full service HVAC shop by the mid 2000s. Business continued to grow, and all the while, Adam had been working with Brent (his father) learning the trade directly from Brent.
ABT Heating and Cooling is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Remote Data Capture/Record Clerk to join our administrative support team. Help ensure compliance with record keeping accurately capturing, organizing, and maintaining essential service, customer, and equipment records. This is a fully remote position ideal for a self-motivated individual with strong data entry skills, attention to detail, and experience working with cloud-based tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter and update customer contact information, service history, invoices, and equipment records in the company’s CRM or scheduling software
Digitally capture and organize data from technician reports, service tickets, and inspection forms
Maintain accurate inventory records for parts, units, and maintenance schedules
Assist in tracking job progress and technician activity by updating job logs and status reports
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all digital documents in cloud-based storage systems (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox)
Communicate with field technicians or office staff to clarify incomplete or missing information
Maintain confidentiality of all customer and internal company data
Generate data reports for management as needed
Help ensure compliance with record keeping procedures and service documentation standards
High school diploma or equivalent
1–2 years of experience in data entry, records management, or clerical support (HVAC or service industry experience is a plus)
Strong typing and computer skills, with proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and PDF editors
Familiarity with CRM or field service software (e.g., House call Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, etc.) is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage remote communication effectively
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Access to reliable internet and a secure home workspace

100% remote work
Must be available during regular business hours (adjusted to company time zone, typically Pacific or Mountain Time)
