Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques, along with experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) and acute care environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring patient safety during medication administration.
- Maintain accurate records of medication intake and patient profiles.
- Support sterile and non-sterile preparation and administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care through effective communication and teamwork.
- Maintain clean room compliance, cleanings, and logs per schedule
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards, including proper aseptic techniques.
- Participate in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring medication supplies.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the pharmacy by performing various administrative tasks as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in pharmacy technician roles, preferably within sterile compounding settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Familiarity with critical care practices and acute care environments is highly desirable.
- Proficient in IV infusion techniques and medication administration protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on patient service and care quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
