Associate Pastor - First Baptist Church

Location: First Baptist Church, North Platte, NE
Employment Type: Part-Time (20-25 hours/week), Bi-Vocational Option Available
Compensation: $20–$25/hour
Job Description: First Baptist Church, a growing congregation of ~100 attendees in North Platte, NE, seeks an associate pastor to join our team. This hybrid role supports our senior pastor, as one transitions toward retirement, focusing on ministry, preaching, and family time. Responsibilities include:

• Preaching, teaching, and leading small groups as needed.
• Assisting with evangelism and community outreach.
• Managing administrative tasks (office coordination, scheduling, helping with the day to day).
• Overseeing facility maintenance and operations.
• Supporting ministry expansion (e.g., youth, children’s programs) with fresh ideas.
• Planning for the church’s future with a long-term commitment to North Platte.

Qualifications:

• Pastor with strong Bible knowledge and teaching/preaching ability.
• Mature believer bringing seasoned experience and practical wisdom.
• Vibrant personal spiritual life, compatible with our theology and congregation.
• Administrative skills or willingness to learn, with shepherding instincts.
• Desire to engage actively with the church and community, ideally with family involvement.
• Interested in but not required skills: Music leadership, technology (e.g., podcasts), or youth ministry experience (not required).
